I hit install and Steam shows me the install screen (oddly, it does not show the size of the download). When I hit install, it finishes immediately saying 0 bytes downloaded. When I try to start the game, it says executable is missing. I tried this a few times, deleting local content in between, without any success.any ideas? Mac port is new for this one, yes?
Dec 30, 2017 If you recently plugged in an external hard drive and downloaded games onto you might have set it as your main hard drive for steam to download on.-Go to Steam Settings-Downloads-Click Steam Library Folders-Then Rightclick the directory your main hard drive / SSD is located-Press Default Folder.-Done, Download games again.
Check the game's system requirements. First, double-check that the game or DLC is specifically available for Mac. Even if the game is available for Mac, games may not launch if your machine is just at or below the game's system requirements. Please compare your machine's specs against the game's system requirements on the store page, and note.
Hello Apple community,
Steam works fine, but installs and downloads don't work. I waited until late last night and was able to install dota 2, but today there was an update and had the same connection issue again. Seems to me like its an issue on Valve's end, but not sure if anyone has suggestions of fixes.
I've come for your help as I've tried to figure out this for a couple days now, so basically I've narrowed the problem down to if I unplug from my router and plug directly into iMac steam can download any game with no problems, if I plug my router back in, steam can't download and times out with a steam error connection timed out. I've had 0 problems with steam for windows and games download with 0 problems and haven't changed anything except get a brand new iMac 5k . So anyone want to try and give me a hand?
